A lot has happened since our last update. In December, we had the privilege of having our latest songs mixed and co-produced by Peter Katis (The National, Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, Jonsi, Frightened Rabbits, and Kurt Vile). Peter is a legend in the indie-rock world, and we were grateful for his collaboration with us. Those same songs are now off to Brooklyn, NY to be mastered by Heba Kadry (Bjork, Rosalia, Beach House, Slow Dive, and Future Islands). Once mastered they will be released as an EP, both digitally and on 12-inch vinyl. We are hoping to have the EP release date set for sometime in late spring or early summer, and are planning an East Coast tour to coincide with the release. We have received requests to play shows in other non-East Coast cities throughout the United States as well as in Canada and the UK, and we will do our very best to try and accommodate these requests. Wow, it’s been over 4 years since the last THIS MODERN BRIDGE update! COVID really stopped us all in our tracks for awhile, but now it’s behind us and we picked up where we left off. In March and April of this year we went back into the recording studio at NEWCASTLE SOUND (Barrington, RI), and along with the guru of sound engineering, Randy Hunicke, captured many of the tracks we worked on prior to and throughout COVID. Those tracks are ready to be mixed and mastered then released out into the world. If all goes as planned we are looking for a release date by the end of the year. As far as touring, once the new material has been released we will be looking to perform shows throughout New England with the possibility of a full east coast tour.

Well, it has been a while since our last post, but a lot has been going on. The SWELL-EP vinyl is out and ready to be spun on your record player! We have been working on our songs for the new album and hope to start recording them soon. We are playing an upcoming show on May 31st at The Pour Farm Tavern in New Bedford, MA, and our friends from 123 Astronaut will be joining us – It will be a night of rock and psychedelia!

So, a lot has happened in the past 2 months. The SWELL-EP vinyl has been ordered and is in the process of being hand cut. We should have it ready to purchase by mid-December. It will be available on-line through RED SUIT MUSIC & ART and at some local record stores such as Newbury Comics in Norwood, MA. We have also been very busy working on our new songs, and are starting to record the new album. Lastly, we are finishing the final touches on some t-shirts so check back soon!

It was a great practice session today! We played many of the songs off the SWELL-EP. We also worked on a few new songs built around a new Korg SV-1 digital piano…think Bowie meets Pink Floyd!

More exciting news! RED SUIT MUSIC & ART has been busy putting together the final touches for the 12-inch vinyl recording of the SWELL-EP. The artwork should be finalized soon and sent off to LITTLE ELEPHANT to be cut. Our hope is to have the record ready to spin by Fall, 2018. There is nothing better than the crackle of vinyl!

Over the past year, THIS MODERN BRIDGE has been busy recording and practicing. We get together on Sunday mornings and create some great abstract music while drinking pots of coffee and discussing life. Our hard work has paid off in our new EP titled SWELL-EP. Over the next few months we will be busy making videos, taking photos and starting to prepare for our live shows, which we hope to be ready for in the fall.
